Jedidiah Paschall is a Christian Mystic, a family man residing in the San Diego area with his fiancée, who serves as a chaplain with a local hospital system. He has three wonderful children and five exceptional step‑kids who are all a tremendous source of joy and inspiration in his life. He is dedicated to the principles of sacred entrepreneurship that inspire the Monastery, which aims to provide tangible social and environmental benefits. His professional background is remarkably diverse, spanning education, hospitality, and trade-specific industries in sales, management, and operations. Raised in the Evangelical tradition, Jedidiah was formally trained in theology and biblical studies at Evangelical institutions before earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Over the years, his spiritual practice has broadened through the influences of Eastern Christian traditions, Christian mystical Traditions, and Dharmic traditions such as Buddhism and Hinduism, as well as his active participation in Baha’i communities.
His journey toward a contemplative life was driven not only by deep spiritual curiosity but also by the necessity to manage his own personal struggles with bipolar disorder. Through effective medical care, counseling, and recovery, he learned to cultivate a rich interior life that enabled him to compassionately navigate setbacks and pursue wellness. Learning that neurodivergence and disability, when approached with courage, compassion, and adaptability, can lead to a rewarding and successful life has been one of Jedidiah’s great joys—and it is a lesson he eagerly shares with others facing similar challenges.

I’m in the Murrieta/Temecula area of SW Riverside County, and I hail from Northern San Diego County (Escondido). BTW I am really enjoying your posts on DBH and Girard. As a writer, I love Girard’s remarkable gifts as a literary analyst, and DBH has quickly become one of my favorite theologians.
