Welcome to St. Jude’s Tavern. This establishment is named after St. Jude, who in various Christian traditions is known as the patron saint of lost causes. This cozy little pub is a place that has existed in my mind for a long time, it is also an important place in my novel The Damned May Enter. St. Jude’s is a place where those deep questions about meaning can be asked by sinners and saints alike. My drinking days are a thing of the past (manic-depressive writers should, in my opinion avoid the sauce at all costs). That said, nothing warms my heart more than serving old friends or new ones a hearty ale or a well crafted cocktail or a great cup of coffee along with a tasty meal. So, whatever you are thirsty for, belly up to the bar and enjoy a drink on me, and let’s have a good time full of engaging conversation.
However, be forewarned, this is a place where ideas are explored, and ideas are provocative. One thing that I probably won’t ever do is pull punches, and some of what I present here will be pugnacious. I ask my guests to do the same, let’s just keep our punches above the belt.
